Sunday Lately #153

Sunday Lately #153

Sunday Lately is a weekly link-up hosted by the Blogger Tribe, which is being fearlessly led by Angelica, Meghan, Katy, and Nicole. We e-hang out every Sunday, sharing a small glimpse into the most recent week of life in our own worlds. We'd love if you could join us!

This week’s themes: Browsing, moving, practicing, racing, and soothing.

The Christmas decor aisles at Target. I love the wide variety of ornaments on display each year! They’re too cute. Since I live in a teeny-tiny, efficiency apartment with two cats, I don’t decorate for Christmas (or any holiday, really). I can’t wait to move into a larger apartment that can actually accommodate a Christmas tree! For now, I just peruse through Target to get my holiday decor fix.

Through a handful of books this week! I finished up Capital Gaines, which was super great. I love Chip and Joanna Gaines! In addition, I breezed through Who Was Walt Disney? and Everything I Need to Know I Learned From a Disney Little Golden Book. Both we’re quick and fun reads, so those were a nice treat this week. Lastly, I finally “finished” (aka skimmed) Dance, Stand, Run by Jess Connolly. While I loved the message of the book, it got pretty boring and repetitive after the fifth chapter or so. If you’re curious about what I’m reading at any given time, find me on Goodreads!

How to turn intentional, daily goals into meaningful habits. This has taken me a few months to wrap my head around it, and I’m so grateful to have my PowerSheets keep me focused on the day-to-day tasks that matter the most. Lately, my daily goals have included praying, brushing my two cats, drinking lots of water, and taking some time to either read, write, or draw. Since I’ve been focusing on these easy tasks everyday for the past few months, most of them have developed into habits that I don’t even think twice about doing (which is great!).

The clock to meet some deadlines that I’ve set for a special project that I’ve been working on. To keep me on track, I whipped up a timeline for the next month that shows the tasks that need to be completed for each day and week. This is an awesome way to visualize what actually needs to be done within a specific amount of time. December is fixin’ to be a busy, busy, busy month!

My sinuses. After the cedar-palooza in Dallas last weekend, I’ve had to brace myself for the influx of seasonal allergy triggers that bombard me in the fall and winter months. I’ll take a decongestant if my sinuses are really bad but I usually try to combat them by using a more “natural” remedy. My favorite method is taking a hot shower with some eucalyptus essential oil. Opens the sinus cavity right up!

I hope everyone had a lovely week! Next week’s themes are: Testing, sketching, surprising, whistling, and ignoring. If you'd like, feel free to join us!
