Sunday Lately #152
Sunday Lately is a weekly link-up hosted by the Blogger Tribe, which is being fearlessly led by Angelica, Meghan, Katy, and Nicole. We e-hang out every Sunday, sharing a small glimpse into the most recent week of life in our own worlds. We'd love if you could join us!
This week’s themes: Adapting, dancing, bringing, chancing, and losing.
To an end-of-the-semester schedule. It’s a weird combination of both a.) slowing down and b.) rushing to finish up tasks and assignments that you had all semester to complete (#whoops). Finals are right around the corner, and I’m SO looking forward to winter break.
With joy that I found a pair of velvet, floral-embroidered heels at a Target in Dallas that I’ve been drooling over for the last month. My local Target didn’t sell them at all (???) and they sold out pretty quickly online, so I could never get my hands on them. The best part of all? They were on clearance for half off, which made them $15.00! Excited is an understatement.
Out some holiday cheer. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and this week was just so festive and enjoyable. Aside from the finger-lickin’-good Thanksgiving dinner (and leftovers), my sister and I whipped up some scrumptious Cranberry Mules to sip on while preparing the meal. We referred to this recipe from Pinterest as a general guideline for the beverage, but used Tito’s vodka instead of spiced rum. In addition, we omitted the simple syrup and sugared cranberries. So basically, we just added unsweetened cranberry juice to what would have been a regular ole Moscow Mule. It was delicious!
My luck with a new shirt that I tossed in the dryer upon washing it. It shrunk in length, which was a major bummer because I have a long torso that often requires me to buy shirts and blouses in a size larger than I normally would. The shirt is made of lyocell, which is a knitted fabric that’s similar to cotton. Luckily, knitted fabrics are much easier to”unshrink” than non-knitted fabrics, like polyester and rayon. After doing a quick how-to search on Google, I was able to reverse much of the shrinking! If you ever find yourself in a my-shirt-shrank pickle, here’s the WikiHow article that I referred to.
My mind from seasonal allergies! Cedar trees are “blooming” in Texas at the moment, and they’re bringing me loads of sinus pressure. It felt like I had 30 pounds of bricks sitting on my face this week. Even though I have relatively intense, year-round allergies, I can’t treat them with allergy shots due to a sino-nasal condition called Nonallergic Rhinitis. The left side of my face is always a little swollen, so that also complicates things when I have nasal congestion. Thank goodness for antihistamines, right?
I hope everyone had a lovely week! Next week’s themes are: Browsing, moving, practicing, racing, and soothing. If you'd like, feel free to join us!
